Ash Wednesday services and drive-thru ashes in Acadiana
For some, the end of Mardi Gras brings the start of the Lenten season. And today, many Christians and Catholics will head to churches throughout Lafayette and Acadiana to receive their ashes.
Bishop Deshotel will celebrate mass at 12:00 pm at the Cathedral of St. John in Downtown Lafayette. Other churches in Lafayette and Acadiana will also hold masses at various times.

Those who are unable to stop in to attend mass can receive their ashes at one drive-thru location in Lafayette.
The First Lutheran Church in Lafayette will offer their drive-thru ashes service again this year from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The church is located at 301 West Farrel Road in Lafayette.
